Although a generally healthy breed, there are some hereditary conditions that occur in Havanese. If you buy from an ethical breeder who has done the required health testing on their dogs your chances of having a healthy puppy will be greatly increased. The Southern Magnolia Havanese Club follows the parent club, Havanese Club of America, in promoting health testing.
